Frequently asked questions
How do I start or join a group?
Open the Groups tab. Create a group and share its invite code with your friends, or join a group with a code someone sent you. The group's owner and admins set the rules, zones, and timers for everyone in it.
Why does Manhunt ask to use my location all the time?
Your group can only see you while your phone is sharing its location. Choosing Always Allow on iPhone, or Allow all the time on Android, keeps your pin up to date when Manhunt is in the background. You can change this any time in your phone's settings.
Someone's location looks out of date. What can they check?
Ask them to open Manhunt, make sure location access is set to always, and turn off Low Power Mode or battery optimization for Manhunt. GPS is less precise indoors and between tall buildings. The group may also have a location delay set, which controls how often the map updates.
What does Manhunt use Bluetooth for?
While Manhunt is open, your phone listens for other Manhunt phones nearby. When it hears someone from your group, the top of the map shows roughly how close they are (right next to you, within 30 ft, or within 100 ft). With Manhunt Pro you can also get a Players nearby notification. Bluetooth never shows more than the map would: it only reports group members who are already sharing their location with you.
I forgot my password.
On the sign-in screen, tap Forgot password? and we'll email you a reset link. Open the link on the phone that has Manhunt installed and the app will ask for a new password. Reset links work once and expire after an hour.
How do I stop sharing my location with a group?
Leave the group and its members will no longer see your location. To stop sharing with everyone, turn off location access for Manhunt in your phone's settings.
Manhunt Pro subscriptions
Manhunt is free to play. Manhunt Pro is an optional subscription you can start from the Pro screen in the app.
- Bought on iPhone: manage or cancel it in your App Store subscriptions (Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions).
- Bought on Android: manage or cancel it in your Google Play subscriptions.
- Bought through our web checkout: open the Pro screen in the app and tap Manage subscription.
New phone, or Pro not showing up? Open the Pro screen and tap Restore purchases while signed in to the same App Store or Google Play account. Refunds for App Store and Google Play purchases are handled by Apple and Google under their policies.
Delete your account
You can delete your Manhunt account from inside the app:
- Open Manhunt and sign in.
- On the map, tap the Settings (gear) button in the top left.
- Under User Settings, tap Profile.
- Tap Delete account at the bottom of the screen, then tap Delete to confirm.
This permanently deletes your account and the sign-in methods linked to it, and it can't be undone.
If you can't get into the app, or you also want us to delete the messages, photos, and location history you shared in groups, email support@manhuntgames.com from the email address on your account with the subject "Delete my account." We'll confirm once it's done. We may keep some information where the law requires it or to prevent fraud and abuse, as described in our Privacy Policy.
Deleting your account doesn't cancel a Manhunt Pro subscription bought through the App Store or Google Play. Cancel it there first so you aren't charged again.
Report a safety concern
To report abuse, harassment, or anything that puts someone at risk, especially a minor, email support@manhuntgames.com with the username and group involved. If anyone is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first. See our Terms of Service for the rules every player agrees to.
